You will be responsible for delivering high-quality career and technical education that aligns with the Collaborative’s educational mission. This includes preparing students for success in the field by teaching a curriculum rooted in industry standards and best practices. Primary duties encompass classroom instruction, curriculum development, and student assessment, ensuring that all students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their chosen careers.
In addition, the role requires collaboration with colleagues, parents, and industry professionals to create a well-rounded educational experience. You will need to interact professionally with students, school administrators, teachers, and public agency personnel to foster a supportive and effective learning environment. Building strong relationships with stakeholders is key to ensuring student success and achieving program goals.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Massachusetts Chapter 74 Occupational Instructor in Information Support Services & Networking or a closely related field.
- Certification in Cisco Networking and COMP TIAA+ is a plus.
- At least four (4) years of career and technical experience in the field; teaching experience in secondary or post-secondary education preferred.
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Commitment to obtaining and maintaining a Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education Educator’s License through professional development or growth activities.
- High school or trade school degree required; post-secondary education preferred.
- Willingness to pursue certification as a teacher, if not already certified.
- Demonstrated ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, school staff, and industry representatives.
- U.S. citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
