Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medication Aide to join our team. In this role, you will assist students with medication administration, treatments, and health monitoring while responding to their needs with care and empathy. You will use your excellent communication skills to report any changes or updates in student conditions, ensuring the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications, and treatments, and monitor students' health conditions in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Respond promptly and compassionately to students’ healthcare needs.
- Communicate effectively with staff, families, and providers regarding students’ health conditions and any updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to medication administration and treatments.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and healthcare standards, including CPR and First Aid requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DCF (Department of Children and Families) community systems and familiarity with medication-related DCF and DPH (Department of Public Health) regulations and policies.
- Knowledge of drug types, uses, and effects for physical, mental, and emotional disorders.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff members.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medication Aide Registration/Certification from the state of Washington, DC.
- Certification/License from the state of Washington, DC.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and BLS (Basic Life Support).
